Delisting AnnouncementThe transgender community first discovered that transition related surgery was delisted in the Sunday edition of the Toronto Sun, a right wing newspaper that was known to be antagonistic towards the LGBT community. Other newspapers barely covered the delisting, with few references to it in their pages in 1998. The official announcement would not come until months later in December.
